Dear Class of 2017 Graduate,

Dear Almost Graduate,

You’re almost there. The senioritis is at an all time high as you are just a few months away from being done with high school forever. You’re probably excited but nervous.

I was in the same place 3 years ago and I remember all those feelings as if it was yesterday. Are you not sure what you want to do after school? Are you committed & counting down the days into move in? Are you committed but having second thoughts?

I want to tell you something, a little heart to heart from someone who knows…don’t listen to everyone else, you do what you need to do. Don’t worry about what they will say. Don’t worry what they will think. You need to do what is best for you and sometimes that is going against what the norm is and that’s ok.

You will quickly realize there’s more to life than high school and what people say about you. I wish I could go back and tell myself to not worry about it.

Also, take some time to enjoy this season even though you’re anxious for the next season. Go out to lunch with friends. Eat dinner with your family. Hug your mom. Thank your teachers. Even though you don't think so now, one day not too far off, you'll wish you had taken some time to enjoy this season of your life more. You'll never be at this stage in your life again, time goes faster than you ever thought possible when you graduate, so just soak it all in now.
